Funds Needed For Historic Oliver Kelley Farm
Each year 28000 people visit the Oliver Kelley Farm.
This visitation has a significant economic impact on Elk River and the surrounding area.
School kids and adult visitors come to enjoy the quality programming offered that combines learning about the traditional farming skills and products of the 1860′s with lots of fun. Today, uncertain economic times threaten cutbacks of the Farms current outstanding living history programs.
The Friends of the Kelley Farm has committed to raising $11000 during 2011 of which $6000 will be dedicated to support living history interpreters and the remainder on scholarships for low income students to attend farm activities, and for marketing efforts to raise attendance at the Farm.
The Friends invite you to make a donation in support of these efforts. The name and/or logo of any business or individual making a donation in excess of $250 will be featured on a donors board located at the interpreters center at the Farm and in full view of thousands of visitors. Silent auction items are also welcomed. The silent auction will be held over the Labor Day weekend as part of Threshing Days.
